Johnny Depp Won’t Raise His Kids in US
October 6th, 2007
Johnny Depp has vowed never to raise his child in the US - branding the country a truly “frightening” place.
The Pirates Of The Caribbean star, 44, currently lives with his wife, actress/model Vanessa Paradis, and two children - Lily-Rose, 8, Jack, 5 - in rural northern France.
And despite the fact he grew up in the US, he is vehement about never returning to his home country with his children.
He tells the New York Post: “I’m not particularly optimistic about society. We’re in an age where everything has gone too far. It’s an ugly world.
“I’m truly frightened of America in terms of raising my daughter here. I don’t believe that is an option at all.”
Sure, there are some part of the US I wouldn’t want to raise my kids, but there are some great parts of the country where I am happy to be raising my kids.

I am really upset about this quote. I really love Johnny Depp as a celebrity, and I hate to think he doesnt like this place for his kids.

I don’t blame him, look at how the photographers chase the Jolie-Pitt brood.

I hate to say this but he is right to some extent. I am not agreeing with him just because I am a fan but because this country is truly in great jeopardy. The amount of delinquency and lack of morals is overwhelming. Things that were taboo 30 or 40 years ago is now widely accepted by the people in this country. The government spends millions of our tax dollars to people on welfare that drive Escalades and wear more jewelry than Mr. T. I am American and work my butt off and have not been able to get one penny from the government even when I was in dire need once. The middle class can barely survive. I can go on and on. This whole world is in decadence but this country is one of the ones with the lowest moral values. I agree with Johnny!
