Tila “Tequila” Nguyen called the San Diego Sherriff’s Department early Sunday morning, alleging that she was choked and physically restrained by a man when she tried to leave his home.

At 3:45 a.m., the San Diego Sheriff’s Department responded to a disturbance call made by Tila, who alleged that her assailant was San Diego Chargers’ linebacker Shawne Merriman.

Merriman said in a written statement to Fox, for which he has worked in the past, that there were “false allegations” made against him by Tila Nguyen, a model and reality television show hostess described in some reports as Merriman’s girlfriend. Merriman said in the statement that Nguyen appeared to be in an “intoxicated state” and he “encouraged her to stay until safe transportation could be provided.”

According to several reports, Nguyen has accused Merriman of choking her and physically restraining her from leaving his home. She signed a citizen’s arrest complaint at the scene charging Merriman with battery and false imprisonment, according to the reports.

After the altercation Tila was then transported to Pomerado Hospital, while Merriman was taken into custody by Sheriff’s Deputies.

Nguyen is best known for her MTV dating show “A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila,” which appeared for two seasons.
