Simon Cowell Donates Paycheck to Idol Gives Back

While Simon Cowell isn’t known for being generous with his praise, he puts his money where his mouth is when it comes to charity. The American Idol judge is donating a day’s pay to Idol Gives Back, PEOPLE has confirmed.
After traveling to Africa and touring sites in the US last year as part of the inaugural Idol Gives Back campaign, “Simon saw first-hand children in extremely impoverished conditions,” a source close to Cowell says. “He donated his paycheck then and he had no hesitation in donating his paycheck again this year.”
Charities receiving donations as part of this year’s Idol Gives Back include: The Children’s Defense Fund, Children’s Health Fund, The Global Fund, Make It Right, Malaria No More, and Save the Children.
Yesterday, a source close to Idol host Ryan Seacrest revealed to PEOPLE that he, too, was donating a day’s pay, saying, “When he and Simon went to Africa last year and saw the children, it was really life-altering for him.”
Idol Gives Back will air on FOX Wednesday, April 9.
That’s pretty classy of Simon and Ryan, we should all give a day’s pay to helping the children of the world.

I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT IT WOULD BE MADE OUT TO BE A BIG DEAL THAT THEY ARE DONATING A DAYS PAY! THESE GUYS ARE WORTH MILLIONS. I AM WATCHING THE IDOL GIVES BACK SHOW RIGHT NOW AND I GOTTA TELL YA, IT MAKES ME SICK TO KNOW THAT THESE CELEBRITIES DON’T EVEN PUT A DENT IN THEIR POCKETS WHEN THEY DONATE. BETWEEN THEM ALL THEY CAN SOLVE MUCH OF THE WORLD’S POVERTY!
AND LOOK AT SNOOP DOG AND THE DIAMONDS HE WAS WEARING! IT’S APPALLING. HOW CAN YOU VISIT THESE POOR CHILDREN AND THEN BE COMFORTABLE HAVING MORE THAN ONE MANSION, OR SPENDING MILLIONS ON JEWELRY AND CARS??? HONESTLY, THESE CELEBRITIES ARE VERY HYPROCRITICAL.

I want to know how truly touched these celebs are by finding out how much they are donating? They ask for our money and yet they dont put a finger in their greedy bank accounts. Really…a days pay…BIG DEAL. They are all full of it and lack any integrity. What a load pf publicity crap. They can afford to give at least 1 mil each. They should be ashamed.
