Oh that James Franco…ever since his less than stellar hosting performance on the Oscars, he just seems to be a bitter pill these days. The very talented, yet eccentric at times actor has now declared that social media will soon be dead.

“Social media is over. Still up there. Going down. You heard it here first,” James, told Politico last week at a benefit event for creative writing nonprofit 826’s Washington D.C. chapter.

I guess he won’t be invited to Facebook or Twitter headquarters anytime soon.

Apparently Franco didn’t take to kindly to companies, whom he works with, monitoring his tweets and then contacting him about it.Honestly I can’t blame him, he should have the freedom to say what he wants on his Twitter account, but he does have a responsibility to his reps and business partners too. So sadly, it must have been too much of a catch 22 for him, since he has now shut his account down.

However, that doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy the mad rumblings of Charlie Sheen or sweet nothings from Miley Cyrus, who has come back to Twitter after a two year hiatus. Thrilling…
