The second episode of “I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!” fared well in the Tuesday ratings, which you may or may not interpret as a sign of the apocalypse.
The NBC show, which has Patti Blagojevich among its 11 contestants, drew 5.5 million viewers in the 7 p.m. hour. Though a repeat of “NCIS” got twice as many viewers, “I’m a Celebrity” was No. 1 in the key 18-to-49 demographic. Thanks to “I’m a Celebrity” and “Inside the White House,” NBC easily won the night in that demographic.
Compared with its Monday debut, the Tuesday ratings for “I’m a Celebrity” dipped only slightly. Given that rumors are swirling that drama magnets Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt will be returning to the program, the apocalypse — er, rather, the reality show — should continue to do well in the ratings, and NBC is reportedly considering extending the show’s run beyond the announced June 24 finale.
