Britney Spears was to be released yesterday from UCLA Medical Center’s psychiatric ward after undergoing a 72-hour mental evaluation. But the troubled singer will be staying for another two weeks, with doctors citing a California law that allows patients to be kept for medical treatment if they are gravely disabled or a danger to themselves or others, a source told the AP. Currently, Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, and attorney Andrew Wallet, were granted conservatorship over her personal and financial affairs, but a court hearing is scheduled today to review the matter. Britney was also scheduled for another custody hearing today, but most likely will not make it.

Why doesn’t her mom get control? She did raise Britney and wrote a book about what a great job she did and everything.
