Two people involved in an accident that injured Shia LaBeouf were charged Monday with giving police false information about the wreck.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office said Monday it filed one misdemeanor count apiece for Herbert Simon, 22, and Kimberly Bent, 21. A spokeswoman for Los Angeles District Attorney Steve Cooley’s office said Bent told police after the crash that she was driving, but that investigators suspect Simon was behind the wheel.

Even though, as Simon Cowell pointed out, discovering that Clay Aiken is gay is like “being told Santa Claus isn’t real,” apparently there are a few adults out there who still sit home on Christmas Eve hoping that St. Nick can navigate his way in foul weather.

Message boards devoted to the former “American Idol” runner-up included comments like, “This is really shocking news, as I had no idea he was gay” and “I feel numb I’m so upset; this can’t be real!”

Some among Aiken’s ardent fans, the so-called Claymates, had a visceral reaction to the singer’s announcement last week that he was gay, expressing dismay and questioning whether they can continue to support him. But most took the news with a blink and a shrug, and that seems to be true for the general public as well.

Janet Jackson was released from a Montreal hospital just two hours after she arrived, a spokeswoman for the facility said Tuesday, but it was still not clear why she was admitted.

The 42-year-old singer became “suddenly ill” and was taken to Royal Victoria Hospital on Monday night shortly before her scheduled concert in Montreal, which was canceled, according to a statement released by W&W Public Relations.

Jackson, who is on her first North American tour in seven years, dropped out of her scheduled “Saturday Night Live” performance in March because she had the flu, and her publicist said at the time that she went to the hospital for treatment but was not admitted.

Britney Spears’ apparent ex-boyfriend, photographer Adnan Ghalib, reportedly told British magazine Heat he has a sex tape of himself with the pop star — but a source close to Spears denied it.

A source tells The Sun that the two-hour X-rated footage features Britney naked wearing just a pink wig and was allegedly shot in Mexico. (Ghalib and Spears went to Mexico together in January, right before her breakdown.)

The happy couple is traveling around Ashton’s home state talking to university students about their support for Barack Obama and the importance of voting. Demi said, “That’s what scares me, that if we have another four years of what I call the same dance, a different partner, that’s not a dance I want to show up to.”

Paris Hilton has been immortalised in a portrait compiled using pornographic images.

Jonathan Yeo’s depiction of the hotel heiress - which has already been purchased by artist Damien Hirst for an undisclosed amount - is set to be displayed as part of a new gallery show ‘The Outsiders’ in London’s Lazarides Gallery from today (26.09.08).

Yeo - who has previously painted portraits of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Britain’s Prince Philip, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and media mogul Rupert Murdoch - also revealed he has offered the proceeds from the sale of a $20 poster of the portrait, which is entitled ‘Paris, 2008′, to the heiress.

Other pictures in the exhibition include Yeo’s portrait of US President George W. Bush, also made using images from adult publications.
This is not the first time the 27-year-old beauty has found herself the subject of an artist’s talent.

In May 2007, Paris - who was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in September 2006 - was sculpted as a naked corpse in a bizarre art campaign to warn against the dangers of drink driving.

The sculpture, from New York artist Daniel Edwards, showed the socialite lying naked with her legs splayed wearing a tiara and clutching a cell phone.

Her pet Chihuahua Tinkerbell was also sculpted, resting its front paws on Paris’ breasts.

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds made it official with a quiet wedding this weekend in Canada, a source says.

The engagement announment in May seems like just yeterday. This is the first marriage for both Scarlett and Ryan.

Johansson, 23, began dating Reynolds, 31, last year shortly after his split from singer Alanis Morissette, who recently expressed well wishes on her ex’s engagement.

Russell Crowe jokes that a bride has already been picked out for his 2-year-old son Tennyson – 2 1/2-month-old Sunday Rose Urban.

Sunday not only has the same birthday as Tennyson, she just happens to be the daughter of Crowe’s close pals Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman

“Nicole had one look at my younger son Tennyson, and looked up at me and said, ‘I’m a great believer in arranged marriages,’” the actor said Friday in Beverly Hills while promoting his film Body of Lies. “I believe she made the connection between Sunday and Tennyson now – so Tennyson is already engaged!”

It was all worked out at Crowe’s home in Australia recently, he says.

“Nicole and Keith brought Sunday Rose around on a Sunday, which I thought was appropriate,” noted the actor, adding, “But Sunday Rose is a beautiful child with beautiful delicate features and it was fun when she brought her around Sunday – it was nice.”

Crowe, who has two children with wife Danielle Spencer, says that fatherhood just gets better. “It’s the most fantastic thing I’ve ever experienced,” he says “and it continues to get more fun and more complex with every day.”

Paul Newman, the Academy-Award winning superstar who personified cool as the anti-hero of such films as “Hud,” “Cool Hand Luke” and “The Color of Money” — and as an activist, race car driver and popcorn impresario — has died. He was 83.

I always Loved Paul’s Films. It was his time though, I suppose.
