George Lucas was among the entertainers and Hollywood types who were spotted in the halls of Invesco Field on Thursday in the hours leading up to Barack Obama’s historic acceptance speech. Forest Whitaker arrived with his wife Keisha and Star Jones, while will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas was spotted leaving the field level following Stevie Wonder’s sound check.

Before singing the national anthem to a slowly filling stadium, Jennifer Hudson appeared lost in thought, wearing a casual grey dress and listening to iPod earphones as her handlers asked for directions to the podium. While waiting, she typed on a Sidekick.

Also spotted on the field in the hours leading up to the presentation: Daniel Dae Kim of “Lost,” new mom Jessica Alba and her husband Cash Warren, Rosario Dawson, Wilmer Valderrama and Fergie — who waved to fans shouting her name.

“Fired up!” said an excited Spike Lee. “Bigger than the Super Bowl!”

The musical lineup for the evening included will.i.am performing with John Legend, Sheryl Crow (who Obama has said is among the artists on his iPod), Wonder and Michael McDonald.

Ben Affleck has been giving Matt Damon advice on coping with his newborn daughter Gia via text message.

The actor - who starred alongside Matt in 1997 movie ‘Good Will Hunting’, which the pair also wrote - admits he has been in contact with Matt and has also passed on some of his own tips on caring for children.

Ben, who is expecting his second child with wife Jennifer Garner later this year, said: “I’ve kind of been texting Matt back and forth, and he’s doing great and his wife Luciana is doing great.”

Matt - who also has a two-year-old daughter Isabella and a 10-year-old stepdaughter Alexia with Luciana - is also “thrilled” about the new addition to his family, according to Ben.

He added to People magazine: “Anybody who has a child is excited, I think, no matter what the gender is. They are thrilled. The thing that people really want, when you get down to it, is a healthy child.”

Rage Against The Machine Attract Huge Numbers At Anti-war Gig….

Rage Against The Machine attracted a huge crowd as they headlined an anti-war concert in Denver, Colorado on Wednesday (27Aug08).

In June (08), the politically motivated rockers announced they would stage gigs outside upcoming presidential conventions in August (08) and September (08) in order to disrupt the run-up to the election in November (08).

And the band kept to their promise, playing a packed gig to almost 9,000 fans who were there to support the Iraq Veterans Against the War at Denver’s Coliseum.

The group performed just a day before Barack Obama accepted the Democratic party’s nomination as leader and official presidential candidate.

Rage Against The Machine have vowed to perform at a similar event during the Republican Convention next month.

I’m actually surprised that they will perform at the Republican Convention. I mean it makes sense, but still surprises me.

Barack Obama Bashes Chicago Cubs

August 30th, 2008 by admin in Celebrity

That baseball that they play on the North Side of Chicago, that’s not “serious” baseball - at least not the way Barack Obama sees it.

obama-on-the-mound-thumb-300x452-198x300 Barack Obama Bashes Chicago Cubs

Obama, a Southsider, was asked by ESPN’s Stuart Scott what would happen if both the Cubs and the White Sox made it to the World Series.

“I would be going,” Obama said.

“Who would you root for?” Scott asked.

“Oh, that’s easy,” Obama replied. “White Sox.      (DUMB ANSWER)

“I’m not one of these fair weather fans,” the junior senator from Illinois and presumptive presidential nominee of the Democratic Party explained. “You go to Wrigley Field, you have a beer, beautiful people up there. People aren’t watching the game. It’s not serious. White Sox, that’s baseball. Southside.”

BULLSHIT!

I like Obama and I respect the fact that he’s honest about his choosing the sox over the Cubs, but to imply that Cubs fans aren’t serious about their baseball is crazy!  All the Chicago Cubs fans I know are very passionate and very knowledgeable about the game, I cant say the same thing about whitesox fans.

Not a very diplomatic thing to do and he should know there are a LOT  more Cubs fans the sox fans and he better hope this doesnt cost him some votes, which it will.

The actor - who was in the city at the Venice Film Festival to promote his new movie ‘Burn After Reading’ - grabbed the boy as he tripped while attempting to get an autograph from the Hollywood heartthrob.

As the youngster almost fell into the canal, Brad extended his arm and pulled him to safety.

An onlooker said: “The boy was just desperate to get an autograph. There were loads of paparazzi around Brad and he was trying to get through when he tripped and almost fell. Brad put his reflexes to good use and grabbed him at the last minute.”

Following the terrifying incident, Brad signed an autograph for the eager fan before dashing off.

Brad - who welcomed twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline with partner Angelina Jolie into the world in July - recently revealed he wants to have two more children with the ‘Wanted’ actress.

When asked how the babies were, father-of-six Brad replied, “The twins are fine”, before adding, “I’ll have two more by next year.”

helenmiran Helen Mirren: I used to ‘love’ cocaine
Oscar-winning British actress Helen Mirren said she used to love cocaine, but stopped taking the drug after learning that a Nazi war criminal profited from the trade, according to a magazine.

The 63-year-old, who won an Academy Award for her role in “The Queen,” was quoted by GQ magazine as saying she used to dabble in marijuana and cocaine when she was younger.

“I loved coke. I never did a lot, just a little bit at parties,” Mirren was quoted as telling the magazine in an interview, which was made available to the media Monday. “But what ended it for me was when they caught (Nazi war criminal) Klaus Barbie, the Butcher of Lyon, in the early 80s. He was hiding in South America and living off the proceeds of being a cocaine baron.

Jen Aniston All Wet, Rocking Out!

August 28th, 2008 by MrNick in Jennifer Aniston

jenwet Jen Aniston All Wet, Rocking Out!
Jennifer Aniston didn’t mind showering down and showing off her moves and her perfect body on the set of 30 Rock in New York over the weekend.

The actress looked like she was having a blast cooling off during the late-night filming alongside the show’s stars Tina Fey and Jane Krakowski. We got some details on who Jennifer Aniston will play in her cameo — she’ll be a “free-spirited, Fatal Attraction-like stalker.” Love it. Of course, Tina is also already gushing about Jennifer’s “mad skills.” I just can’t wait to see one of our all-time favorite sitcom ladies guest starring on one of the funniest shows on the air today. Hopefully Alec Baldwin and Tracy Morgan’s ridiculous antics will come into play with her storyline too.

Lindsay Lohan Kocks out Here Dad

August 27th, 2008 by MrNick in Lindsay Lohan

lindsay_lohan_6 Lindsay Lohan Kocks out Here Dad
Lindsay Lohan has blasted her father Michael for accusing her girlfriend Samantha Ronson of using her, saying he is “addicted to fame” and has become a “public embarrassment and a bully”.

Lindsay Lohan branded her father Michael a “public embarrassment and a bully”.
The ‘Mean Girls’ actress is furious her dad accused her girlfriend Samantha Ronson of using her to raise her profile, and insists it is Michael who is “addicted to fame”.

She wrote in a MySpace blog: “If you have something to say to me, say it to my face - that’s what I have believed my whole life - don’t be a coward and say it to others first, let alone to all the media in the world.
“It really hurts, because I have tried - after all that my mother and siblings have gone through, I really tried to make things work - for the hope of having a father again and wanting things to change - even though people have said, some people will forever remain the same.

“He has become a public embarrassment and a bully - to my family, my co-workers, my friends, and a girl that means the world to me (it’s obvious who that is).

“His recent attack on my life and my loved ones is simply for an ADDICTION THAT HE HAS - FAME. If he really cared about me and my life, then he would learn to respect my wishes by staying out of it. Samantha has not and would never sell me out. Nor has my mother, who is wonderful.”
Samantha also wrote a blog entry about the incident, insisting she is being “used” in Michael’s desperate attempt to boost his profile.

She said: “I really don’t want to say anything because I feel like he wins - he, being the man who is so desperate for attention that he goes to the media whenever possible - I know I am being used, I am just a pawn - easy to sacrifice in order to feed his addiction. I was angry when I first read his attack on me, but I believe that actions speak louder than words. So now I just pity him.”
