She may be under fire for her Vanity Fair and Internet photos, but Miley Cyrus will still be center stage Saturday at the 2008 Disney Channel Games.

The Disney Channel stands by their Hannah Montana superstar, confirming that she will perform at the concert wrapping the weeklong charity event held at Walt Disney World in Orlando.

After some private photos hit the blogs – but before Cyrus apologized for the “embarrassing” Vanity Fair magazine shoot– a Disney exec conceded, “the Internet adds a whole new twist to typical teenage life.”

“Being the most famous 15-year-old in the world is exciting but fraught with challenges and exceptional responsibility,” Gary Marsh, Disney Channel entertainment president, told the Los Angeles Times about their biggest star before the photo flap.

The scandal hasn’t slowed down Cyrus’s packed work schedule. In addition to the concert – which airs in July and also features the Jonas Brothers, The Cheetah Girls, Demi Lovato and Jordan Pruitt – Cyrus will begin filming the Hannah Montana movie next week in Nashville. Her new album is slated for a July release.

Not to mention most industry experts expect Cyrus will be just fine. “The audience is going to let this one go,” says Jerry Del Colliano, a music industry professor at the University of Southern California. “The parents are going to forgive and the kids are going to love her just as much.”

Heading the list of PEOPLE’s 100 Most Beautiful People is a 29-year-old mother remarkably short on her beauty sleep – for which she lovingly credits her active 4-year-old son.

Was she always such a head-turner? Admits the actress: “I was a tomboy. I had three brothers. I was the girl with the dress on that always came back in the house filthy with scrapes and bruises. But I was always very girly. I had to be able to twirl so that my underwear showed.”

Her best time for looking good, she says, comes “at the end of the night, when everything’s soaked in and I’m still up. I like the leftover makeup in the morning. You’ve got to wash your face but there’s always the leftover eye makeup, I love that.”

Paula Abdul says she and her fellow American Idol judges were thrown a “curveball” Tuesday night when they were asked to quickly sum up first half of the show — after originally being told they’d critique the contestants at the end.

Calling into Idol host Ryan Seacrest’s KISS-FM show Wednesday morning, Abdul said her strange response to Jason Castro’s performance was an “honest mistake.” Abdul admits she’d written notes on both Castro and another performer on the same card, and in the end, was simply “confused” as she gave her feedback.

“In seven years we’ve never had to do that,” she told Seacrest of the format change, adding, “We were only following directions.”

Hilary Duff dropped a scorpion down her trousers in her new movie.

The actress had the “scary” encounter with the arachnid while shooting ‘War, Inc’ after deciding not to use a fake one.

She is quoted as saying: “We did it about four times. They were like, ‘We have a fake one here but it looks terrible.’ And I was like, ‘I’ve done this for the movie, and this and this and this’ - I can’t back out now. I’ve got to go for it. All the guys on set were telling me that they would never do this.

“I had a pair of pants on that was a little bigger than my normal size so I could get some space between my body and the pants and try and drop it in.

“A couple of times it went all the way down to the floor, you know, and then sometimes it got stuck and I had to shake it out which was really scary.”

Director Josh Seftel admitted he was “terrified” by the scorpion and praised the 20-year-old ‘Lizzie Maguire’ star for her bravery.

He said: “It was so brave and bold and smart of her to do that. I loved that she embraced it.”

Carmen Electra is marrying her “best friend”.

The former ‘Baywatch’ star, who got engaged for the third time on her 36th birthday last week, says no one has ever understood her like Korn guitarist Rob Patterson.

She said: “We have known each other for a long time - it’s like we’re really good best friends. He understands me - I understand him.”

Carmen insists her latest relationship can’t be compared with her previous marriages, to basketball star Dennis Rodman and rocker Dave Navarro.

She added to Us Weekly magazine: “You can’t really compare people. This is something new and exciting, so we will see where it goes. I am very happy.”

Both Carmen and Rob say they are in no hurry to get married as they are enjoying their engagement.

She said: “We are going to enjoy being engaged for now and just do that. It’s funny because people think you are getting married tomorrow, and we just want to take our time and take things very slow.”

Mario Lopez and Dancing with the Stars pro dancer Karina Smirnoff have recently split, a source confirms to PEOPLE.

The couple, who met during Dancing’s third season, never publicly acknowledged their relationship despite the fact that the pair were living together in Lopez’s Los Angeles home. A source tells PEOPLE Smirnoff is moving out of Lopez’s digs.

Lopez’s personal rep, Lisa Perkins, says, “It’s my policy to not comment on my client’s personal life.”

Smirnoff, who is now competing on Dancing’s sixth season with R&B star Mario, has been spotted recently with E! Entertainment personality Michael Yo. The two were seen dancing and canoodling at a recent event at Hollywood eatery Beso.

Lopez, meanwhile, is starring in A Chorus Line on Broadway, and recently returned to the ballroom with 18 Chorus Line dancers to tape a synchronized number to air on Dancing’s 100th episode on May 6. He’s also about to embark on a national tour to promote his upcoming book, Mario Lopez’s Knockout Fitness.

CSI star Gary Dourdan was arrested early Monday in Palm Springs, Calif., for alleged drug possession, according to local police.

Shortly after 5 a.m., a patrol officer spotted Dourdan parked on the wrong side of the street and he appeared to be sleeping, the Palm Springs Police Department said in a statement.

Dourdan was found in possession of suspected cocaine, heroin, ecstasy and prescription pills, the statement added.

The officer described Dourdan, 41, as “disoriented” and possibly under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Over the weekend, Dourdan had attended the Coachella Music Festival, which took place in nearby Indio, Calif.

After five hours in custody, the actor posted $5,000 bail and was released. A rep for the actor wasn’t immediately available for comment.

His arraignment is set for May 28.

Brittney Spears is trying to get her pop star body back. According to an insider, she does a 2 hour routine at Bally’s complete with 22 minutes on the elliptical, plus crunches, weights and the treadmill.

Her former manager Larry Rudolph on Brit’s transformation: “She’s in great shape. I mean, really great shape. I see huge improvements with her. She’s exercising. She’s eating great. These are the things she needs to be doing right now. She’s well on the road to being the Britney everyone knows and loves.”

A source told Life  & Style: “She’s become very aware that she doesn’t look like she sued to, and she’s working hard to do something about it.”

The source added that Brit’s been working out 5 days a week, avoiding junk food, getting manicures, and using a tanning bed at home.
