A court commissioner on Monday approved a $1,500 weekly allowance for the beleaguered pop princess, whose financial affairs have been under the temporary control of her father and his attorneys for a month and a half.
The “Toxic” singer, whose estate is reportedly worth an estimated $100 million, will have access to the cash via debit card to “enjoy herself, have some freedom of choice,” Geraldine Wyle, an attorney with Luce Forward, the firm overseeing Jamie Spears’ conservatorship, told E! News.
Jamie Spears is getting $2,500 a week from his daughter’s estate, plus funds to lease a car, in exchange for temporarily managing her affairs.

‘Dirty Dancing’ star Patrick Swayze is being treated for pancreatic cancer, his spokesman has said.
The actor had a very limited amount of disease and appeared to be responding well to treatment, according to Dr George Fisher, Swayze’s doctor.
The doctor’s prognosis was included in a statement released today by Swayze’s representative, Annett Wolf.
“Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects,” the statement said.
Swayze has two projects in the works, a film, ‘Powder Blue’, and a TV film, ‘The Beast’, according to the website imdb.com. Both are due to be released this year.
The statement said earlier reports that Swayze, 55, had a matter of weeks to live were exaggerated.
“All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic,” it said.

A Los Angeles court commissioner has ruled that Britney Spears’ dad can draw $2,500 -a-week from his daughter’s accounts - as conservator of her affairs.
According to TMZ.com, Jamie Spears was also given permission to lease a car in a court ruling on Wednesday, during which the pop star’s father was told he would be allowed to stay in control of his daughter’s legal and financial affairs until July 31.
Jamie was appointed conservator of his daughter’s affairs at the beginning of February. His shared responsibility - with court-appointed observer Andrew Wallet - was supposed to end on Monday.
Instead, the extension will be made official on that date - hours after Spears and her ex-husband Kevin Federline’s child custody and visitation case returns to Los Angeles Superior Court.

Former drug addict Fergie will battle narcotics for the rest of her life and still undergoes treatment to keep her clean.
The singer used ecstasy and crystal methamphetamines in her youth. Although she is now drug-free, the 32-year-old still undergoes therapy.
She says: “It wasn’t a quick fix, it was years of work and it’s continual. You don’t go in and out of rehab and then you’re done. I constantly work at things.
“I do hypnotherapy, which is a really big thing in my life. It works well with me because you go back into your subconscious and there are positive suggestions that are said to you. It really works for me.”

Talk about a “big give”: Drew Barrymore announced on Monday’s Oprah Winfrey Show that she is donating $1 million to the World Food Programme to help feed children in Africa.
“I have seen with my own eyes what a difference a simple cup of nutritious porridge can make in a child’s life,” the actress said. “It helps them learn, stay healthy and sets them on track for a bright future.”
Barrymore, 33, has worked with the charity since 2005 and became an Ambassador Against Hunger last year. She’s taken two trips to Kenya to see the organization’s work first hand.
“We have a dream … to feed another 10 million hungry school children in Africa by Thanksgiving Day,” said WFP Executive Director Josette Sheeran, who also appeared on Oprah.
It’s nice to see celebrities do something good for a change.

What’s up with those bumps on Amy Winehouse’s face? The singer has been diagnosed with impetigo, her spokesman confirms to PEOPLE.
It’s a bacterial skin infection that causes pimple-like lumps – and is “is highly contagious, and scratching or touching the sores is likely to spread the infection to other parts of the body as well as to other people,” according to the Mayo Clinic’s Web site.
And yes, Winehouse, 24, had been prescribed drugs … in the form of antibiotics.
As for how the singer’s feeling, “She’s fine,” a pal tells PEOPLE. “She’s not hiding away. She’s never been one to care what people think.”
