The ‘Definitely, Maybe’ actor - who has been dating Scarlett for more than a year - popped the question to the actress who excitedly said “yes”.

Scarlett’s representative Marcel Pariseau confirmed: “They are both thrilled.”

The couple are yet to set a wedding date.

The 23-year-old star proudly showed off her diamond ring at New York’s Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala last night (05.05.08), accessorising it with a tight Dolce and Gabbana dress.

Hugh Jackman - who became close friends with Scarlett, after starring with her in ‘Scoop’ and ‘The Prestige’ - recently gave the couple his blessing.

He said: “Ryan Reynolds is one of the funniest guys I’ve ever met. And we had a really good chat about his girlfriend, because I’m very fond of Scarlett.

After dating for more than a year, Scarlett Johansson is set to marry her boyfriend Ryan Reynolds, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.

“They’re both thrilled,” Johansson’s rep Marcel Pariseau tells PEOPLE.

Reynolds, 31, currently filming the aptly named The Proposal in Boston with Sandra Bullock, recently popped the question to Johansson, 23. The couple have not set a wedding date.

The Nanny Diaries star is expected to show off her sparkler at Monday night’s Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala in New York. Sources say Johansson is eager to “show off her rock” with her Dolce & Gabbana gown.

Friends Give Their Blessing
Johansson – whose debut album Anywhere I Lay My Head is due out May 20 – will next be seen in Woody Allen’s Vicky Cristina Barcelona and the Drew Barrymore-produced He’s Just Not That Into You. Reynolds, who was once engaged to singer Alanis Morissette, has upcoming projects including Fireflies in the Garden with Julia Roberts and X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Mutual pal and Wolverine costar Hugh Jackman recently revealed he is protective of Johansson (they bonded working on 2006’s Scoop and The Prestige) and gave Reynolds his blessing, calling him “one of the funniest guys I’ve ever met … He’s phenomenal.”

I knew Ryan Reynolds was not only funny but smart as well, now the question is will this marriage actually happen.  Then again Alanis Marissette is no Scarlett, not even close, this girl is as hot as it gets, plus she’s a great actress.  Not the best singer though…. Congrats to both Ryan and Scarlett, Im sure they will make beautiful and funny babies!

A bidder on auction website eBay has paid $40,100 (€25,500) for a date with Scarlett Johansson.

The actress auctioned off a chance to be her guest at the premiere of her new film, ‘He’s Just Not That Into You’, in aid of Oxfam.

Bidding for the date began at less than $1, but climbed to over $40,000 in just 10 days.

The winner, who is from the UK, will be brought to the event in a chauffeur-driven limousine to join the star on the red carpet. He or she can also bring a guest with them. After the screening, Johansson will hand her date a personal handwritten note.

However, it is unlikely any further romance will develop as the 23-year-old star is currently dating actor Ryan Reynolds.Source

Scarlett Johansson has told boyfriend Ryan Reynolds she is “too young” to get married, according to reports.

The 30-year-old actor, who started dating Scarlett in April, is said to be crazy about the actress, but she doesn’t want to get tied down at 22.

A source is quoted by National Enquirer magazine as saying: “Ryan has been dropping hints about wedding plans but Scarlett put him in his place quickly. She feels too young to tie the knot.”

Although Scarlett isn’t ready to walk down the aisle, ‘The Nanny Diaries’ star is enjoying dating Ryan and hopes her marriage snub doesn’t result in them splitting up.

The source added: “She really likes him and doesn’t want the relationship to fall apart.”

Scarlett’s last serious relationship was with her ‘Black Dahlia’ co-star Josh Hartnett. The pair even shared an apartment in New York, but split after two years amid rumours he cheated on her.

‘Van Wilder’ star Ryan split from Canadian singer Alanis Morissette in February. They started dating in 2002 and got engaged in 2004.

Hollywood beauty Scarlett Johansson has landed the lead role in the x-rated biopic of the world’s biggest female porn star.

The 22-year-old was personally picked by Jenna Jameson to chart her transformation from ballet dancer to stripper, before making it big in the adult film industry.

Jameson says of her casting: “I tapped up Scarlett for the part and I’m very excited about the film.

“It was my decision not to play the role because I’ve lived that tale already and anyone can play themselves.”

The movie will be based on Jameson’s bestselling autobiography, ‘How To Make Love Like A Porn Star’.

The Sea of Love star, 53, has embraced growing old gracefully and insists she’ll never go under the knife to look younger, and she muses whether today’s movie pin-ups will follow her example no matter what.

Barkin tells Entertainment Weekly magazine, “I look at that gorgeous little Scarlett Johansson and I think, ‘Oh, my God, what is that girl going to look like when she’s a woman?’” Barkin is convinced women don’t need to worry about their looks until they hit their 40s - because faces need time to “settle in.”

She adds, “I always thought women peaked between 36 and 43. Something happens to your face and everything just settles in.”

I think Ellen Barkin should just be grateful to still be doing movies, Scarlett will look 100 times better then Barkin ever looked at any age.
