Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand have really landed themselves in trouble this week with their prank phone calls to Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs.

Noel Gallagher has revealed he wants to write a sitcom with Russell Brand, according to The Sun.

The Oasis star, who is a regular on Russell’s Radio 2’s show, claims that the pair will collaborate when he is free from his band commitments.

Noel said: “I’d like to be part of a team of scriptwriters. I think I’d be good. Russell has been trying to rope me into something but at the moment I can’t commit to anything outside Oasis. But, one day, who knows?”

The musician believes that he and Russell get along so well because of their opposite personalities. He says: “Russell’s a big posh Essex boy former junkie who’s been to the dark side and got into Hare Krishna. He’s never seen a council estate.

“I’m a gruff Northerner who drinks Red Stripe. He finds that fascinating. He’s all ‘But Noel darling, don’t you believe in a higher existence?’ and I’m like, ‘Not dressed in a sheet banging a tambourine, you big Jessie’.”

Forgive and forget? That seems to be the Jonas Brothers’ attitude toward Russell Brand.

In England to promote their Disney movie Camp Rock, the brothers say they were not upset at the British comedian for taking swipes at their purity rings and pledges of virginity during Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards.

“For us it’s cool to see that he recognizes we are gentleman,” Nick Jonas said Tuesday during an appearance on BBC Radio’s Newsbeat program.

Plus, the teen stars say, they had an army of fans by their side.

Said Kevin: “We had a lot of friends there and everybody’s so nice. We had a good time.”

One of those “friends” and vocal supporters of the Jonas Brothers: Jordin Sparks. The former American Idol, who also wears a purity ring, took offense to Brand and said there was nothing wrong with publicly declaring one’s virginity. “Not everybody – guy or girl – wants to be a slut,” she said during the live telecast.

In fact, the Jonas Brothers say they’re fans of Brand’s humor. “I think he did a good job,” Nick said, offering a review of his hosting performance. “We saw him on [The Late Show With] Conan O’Brien and thought he was hilarious.”

The only critique, Kevin said of Brand’s politics-laden monologue, was that he didn’t cover enough topics.

“I think he focused on certain things and didn’t move off of them,” he said. “People’s attention spans in America need more than that.”
