Adam Carolla from the Man Show fame is now starring in a new Comedy that is getting rave reviews called THE HAMMER.
It’s a boxing sports-comedy that has been called “pure comic gold” (Village Voice) … “hilarious” (Howard Stern) … “a strong crowd pleaser” (Variety) … “delightfully funny” (Hollywood Reporter). Ebert & Roper gave it “two thumbs up” and put it on their “three to see” list. New York Times called it “as unexpected as it is moving.” We’ve been getting great critical reviews across the country and have been receiving an outpouring of satisfied fan feedback.

Go See the Movie “No Country For Old Men”

December 12th, 2007 by admin in Celebrity, Movies

nociuntry Go See the Movie No Country For Old Men

I saw one of the best movies I’ve ever seen yesterday, the Coen Brothers “No Country for Old Men”.

This is one hell of a movie, very entertaining, great dialog, great action and one of the best movie bad guys of all time played by Javier Bardem.    Josh Brolin also gives his best performance as the Texas cowboy who stumbles on 2 million dollars at a drug deal gone bad and decides to keep it.  Tommy Lee Jones is also brilliant as the wise sheriff and everyone is great in this movie.  This movie is very memorable and sticks with you after its over and should become an American classic.
It currently has a 95% approval rating at Rotten Tomatoes  and most critics seem to love it.  Its by far the best movie of the year and I would highly recommend it.

Starring: Tommy Lee Jones, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Woody Harrelson, Kelly Macdonald

Directed by: Ethan Coen, Joel Coen

pirates_of_the_caribbean Pirates Of The Caribbean Heading For A TV Series

Johnny Depp’s Pirates Of The Caribbean character Jack Sparrow will feature in a new television series.

Disney is reportedly planning to make a TV spin-off of the swashbuckling franchise with Sparrow as its main character.

A source tells British newspaper The Daily Star, “The idea is that we focus on a much younger Jack Sparrow and show fans how he became a famous pirate.

“The film has been such a success with spin-offs such as toys and video games and books, it only seems right to do a TV series.”

It is hoped a host of high profile celebrities will provide the voiceover for the series. The source adds, “Since the film attracted guests like of Keith Richards, you can imagine the stars who will want to pop up in the television show.”

‘Ocean’s Thirteen’ tops lackluster weekend

June 11th, 2007 by admin in Celebrity, Movies

The “Ocean’s Thirteen” gang engineered a boxoffice heist, capturing the top spot in the weekend listings. But a bit of a summer chill settled over North America’s megaplexes as the latest installment of the caper franchise came up just short of its two predecessors, while the weekend’s other new debuts — the animated “Surf’s Up” and the gorefest “Hostel: Part II” — arrived below expectations.

Warner Bros. Pictures launched “Thirteen” — which it financed with Village Roadshow — in 3,565 theaters, where it delivered an estimated $37.1 million. But while the PG-13, Las Vegas-set tale reunited all the principals from the last two “Ocean’s” movies — producer Jerry Weintraub, director Steven Soderbergh, and George Clooney and his gang of modern-day rat packers — it didn’t quite equal the initial take of the two previous titles. “Ocean’s Eleven,” a remake of the 1960 Frank Sinatra film, bowed in December 2001 to $38.1 in 3,075 theaters, while “Ocean’s Twelve” followed three years later, also in December, with a $39.2 million opening in 3,290 theaters. (”Eleven” went on to gross $183.4 million domestically; “Twelve” captured $125.5 million.)

This time out, the “Ocean’s” gang placed its marker on a summer opening rather than winter, so Warners domestic distribution president Dan Fellman is predicting that strong midweek business should see the new film outdistance the first-week gross of “Eleven,” which amounted to $50.2 million, as well as “Twelve,” which rang in at $50.4 million. “It’s the first film of the series released in June, so we’re well positioned to take advantage of strong midweek business,” he said.

The film, which bowed to $13 million on Friday, $13.9 million Saturday and an estimated $10.2 million Sunday, skewed slightly older; of the audience, 63% was over 25. It skewed slightly female as well, 52%-48%.

June 9th, 2007 by admin in Celebrity, Movies, Sarah Jessica Parker

sex-and-the-citymovie

The fiercely popular HBO dramedy Sex and the city has been in reruns and syndication for awhile now.  But there’s hope on the horizon for some new material from cable’s four sexiest ladies, according to Sarah Jessica Parker.

Parker spilled the beans that there was a movie in the works to pick up where the show left off.  This comes after months and months of negotiations and ego stroking by the producers and studio execs.

Pirates Sets New World Record

May 30th, 2007 by admin in Celebrity, Movies

pirates_of_the_caribbean Pirates Sets New World Record

Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’S End has smashed the record for the biggest worldwide opening in history - the movie raked in a massive $401 million (£200.5 million) in its first six days of release.

The second sequel in the Walt Disney-made series has already broken box office records in the U.S. for the best Memorial Day weekend debut, after making $142.1 million.

At World’s End beat the previous record for best opening set by the release of Spider Man 3 earlier this year (07), which made a total of $382 million in its first few days.

Walt Disney Studios spokesman Mark Zoradi says, “We knew that audiences all over the world were excited to see Johnny Depp and the rest of the fantastic Pirates cast in this latest adventure, but this record-setting response at the global box office has been nothing short of incredible.

“Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’s End now has the biggest opening in movie history, and we’re extremely proud of that achievement.

Paramount Updates: See Norbit this Weekend!

February 9th, 2007 by admin in Celebrity, Movies
katt_williams_020907_001_wenn Paramount Updates: See Norbit this Weekend! eddie_griffin_020907_001_retna Paramount Updates: See Norbit this Weekend!
Katt Williams Eddie Griffin

What is Norbit about?

Eddie Griffin

Norbit  is about, uh, Eddie Murphy, and Eddie Murphy and Eddie Murphy, playing three characters, it’s, uh, about a young man who’s a child at heart, uh, uh, damn near mentally retarded, and he’s surrounded by this huge woman, who…

Katt Williams
(overlapping) Surrounded.

Eddie Griffin
…uh, uh, uh, surrounds him, literally. (laugh)

Tell us about your roles in Norbit.

Eddie Griffin (Continued)
Uh, me and, uh, Katt Williams play, uh, Pope Sweet Jesus, and Lord Have Mercy, who are retired pimps that own a rib shack and all the ex-ho’s are now waitresses. And, uh, the entire neighborhood, basically, cares for Norbit because he’s, you know, a, it’s a big kid.

Katt Williams
It was a stretch for us, you know, we had to do a lot of research ’cause, you know, that, that world is so foreign to us, that whole pimp world, so it was, it was necessary that for, you know, a period of six months that we, um, dealt with the girls and…

Eddie Griffin
That was a whole lot of, uh, rehearsing, man.

Katt Williams
…yeah, it was a seedy environment, the strip clubs.

Eddie Griffin
I mean, the pimps, convention and…

Katt Williams
It was, it was, uh, probably the hardest piece I’ve ever worked on.

Did you do much ad-libbing in the movie?

Eddie Griffin
They wanna ask Murphy a question and said, uh, is it cool to adlib? He said, we didn’t hire you all ’cause you ain’t funny, he said, if it’s funny, we’ll keep it, and, uh, you know, he kept most if it, there was a couple of people that tried it and…

Katt Williams
Yeah, it didn’t work out so well.

Eddie Griffin
…didn’t work out, but, uh, yeah.

Katt Williams
But improv’s a crazy thing.

Eddie Griffin
You know, but it’s a crazy thing, you either got it or you don’t.

Katt Williams
(overlapping) Or, or you don’t.

Eddie Griffin
And, you know, if you don’t, please just leave it alone, ’cause…

Katt Williams
I was playing a sidekick, so I got to just repeat whatever he said, he like, what? I, what? And that was…

Eddie Griffin
No, the soliloquy, dog when you threw down on the…

Katt Williams
(overlapping) Yes.

Eddie Griffin
…the, uh, sandwich salad twist with the…

Katt Williams
(overlapping) Yes.

Eddie Griffin
…butterneck, uh, roll.

Katt Williams
Yeah, well, (laugh) …

Eddie Griffin
That, that, yeah.

Katt Williams
Cauliflower reduction.

Eddie Griffin
I don’t know, when you see it, it’s about five minutes and they kept all the food groups then bam, (interviewer laughs) and then it’s $14.95.

Katt Williams
Yeah. (technical)

What was it like working with Eddie Murphy?

Eddie Griffin
Uh, you know, uh, known the brother for about 17 years so finally working with the dude, you know, was like, uh, uh, you know, one of the highpoints in a brother’s career, you know, ’cause you got a, a, a plethora of talent in this one film. You got that many funny guns in the house, me, myself, Katt Williams,Marlon Wayans, you know, uh,Cuba Gooding Jr. you know, you, uh, it’s a, it’s a, it’s a lot of gun slingers in the house.

Eddie Griffin
So it’s like going to the all-star game, you know, so you got the baddest cats from every team in one game.

Eddie Griffin
You gotta step your game up, so everybody came to the plate with their A-game.

Katt Williams
Eddie, you couldn’t find him in the characters, like, you know, from watching it as a fan when he plays different characters, you’re always looking and going, oh yeah, you could tell it’s, but in, in person there were times when I, I would spend, I thought one time that I had just spent 45 minutes talking to Eddie Murphy and, and found out later that it was actually the stunt double, and, and I had, had a deep conversation about my whole film career and, uh, you know.

Katt Williams
Anyhow this stunt double had just put me in a couple movies and it was, it was disconcerting but it just shows you, how good the work was. It’s cool.

Eddie Griffin
I gave him a nickname called Eddie Morphin.

Katt Williams
Yeah.

Eddie Griffin
You know, he has the ability to morph, you know, he, he can take himself and put it in a little closet in his mind somewhere…

Eddie Griffin
…and allow that character to take over, ’cause when you look through all that make-up, you don’t see Eddie’s eyes, you know, when he was, uh, Mr. Wong, I mean, we’re standing up on the church…

Katt Williams
Yeah.

Eddie Griffin
…and the dude turned around and look at you, and them eyes is Mr. Wong, and Eddie ain’t in there, and then when they yell cut, he’d start talking to us as Eddie, so it’s this…

Katt Williams
(overlapping) Yep.

Eddie Griffin
…Chinese dude with Eddie coming out of it now. (interviewer laughs) Yeah.

Katt Williams
Yeah, it’s great. He’s the best, he’s the best at it, and, and a lot have emulated him…

Eddie Griffin
(overlapping) Mm hmm.

Katt Williams
…uh, so, but you, as Eddie was saying, you know, you gotta be a special type of person to be able to do it, yeah, it’s, yeah.

Eddie Griffin
You gotta have that gift to morph, you know, a lot of people do characters, you see them, yeah man, yeah, nah, nah, it’s a character. He’s doing morphs.

Katt Williams
Right. Yeah, he actually becomes the person, which I, I suppose as an actor is the highest complement.

What is your favorite part of Norbit?

Eddie Griffin
Yeah, my most, uh, exciting part, uh, was, I’d have to say was, uh, the rib shack is what I’d like to see, I’d like to see the rib shack.

Katt Williams
Yeah, that’s a good scene.

Eddie Griffin
Yes, ’cause, uh, that’s a good scene, yeah.

Katt Williams
It’s a good scene.

What can audiences expect from Norbit?

Eddie Griffin
Uh, they can expect to laugh and spit popcorn in the back of the person’s head in front of them. And they can expect to want to come back and see it again, yeah.

Katt Williams
The, the secret of the whole movie, and you probably already know this ’cause it’s all over the internet, but the whole, it just came out, that, you know, Eddie Griffin and I are also playing dual roles, in the movie.

Eddie Griffin
Yes indeedy.

Katt Williams
And so it’s gonna be really fun for the audience (laugh) to try to figure out who else Eddie Griffin is playing in the movie, as, as well as myself, but it’s, it’s just a little.

Eddie Griffin
You have to deduct in there and catch it like, oh…

Katt Williams
…oh, that’s Eddie Griffin playing that character, it’s, it’s, you know, it’s…

Eddie Griffin
(overlapping) Yeah, yeah, it’s, hey that’s Katt Williams.

Katt Williams
It’s fun, you know, it was fun.

Eddie Griffin
Yeah. (technical)
