The ‘4 Minutes’ singer was shunned by her classmates because she chose to concentrate on her music rather than experiment with drugs like her peers.

She said: “In high school I wasn’t a hippie or a stoner, so I ended up being the weirdo. I was interested in classical ballet and music, so the kids were quite mean if you were different.

“I was one of those people that people were mean to. When that happened, instead of being a doormat, I decided to emphasise my differences. But if your joy is derived from what society thinks of you, you’re always going to be disappointed.”

Madonna - who has three children with husband Guy Ritchie - also revealed she initially found it difficult to work with Justin Timberlake and Pharrell Williams on her upcoming album ‘Hard Candy’.

She added to Vanity Fair magazine: “It did take time to get comfortable. It’s not like we hit it off right away. Writing is very intimate. You have to be vulnerable and it’s hard to do that with strangers.”

Madonna Set For Simpsons Cameo?…. Pop superstar Madonna could be set for a cameo on cult animated show The Simpsons - if creator Matt Groening gets his way.

Groening says, “We would love her to do the show. She’s one of the people we haven’t been able to get yet.”

Angelina Jolie insists Madonna knew she would run into trouble by adopting a baby from Malawi - because of the country’s uncertain adoption laws.

“The Good Shepherd” actress - who has given homes to two underprivileged children, five-year-old Maddox and Zahara, 23 months - says Madonna was open to criticism and problems because Malawi has no set guidelines for such cases.
She is quoted by Britain’s New magazine: “Madonna knows very well that she adopted from a country without legal adoption, so it was an unusual situation.” 
Angelina - who also has a seven-month-old biological daughter Shiloh Nouvel with her partner Brad Pitt - insists she will not make the same mistake as Madonna next time she welcomes an unwanted child into her home.
She said: “I don’t anticipate that being a problem for me because I don’t intend to adopt a child from a country where there is no legal adoption.”

Madonna has said she accepts the recent ruling that a judicial review can take place of her interim adoption order of a 14-month-old Malawian boy.
The singer and her husband, the movie producer Guy Ritchie, were granted the order for David Banda in October.

Madonna has previously denied the claims that procedures were altered because of her wealth and status, telling the BBC Newsnight television programme earlier this month: “I can assure you that I was not given any special treatment.”
David Banda’s father, Yohane, has expressed his approval of the singer looking after his son.
“In Malawi, there are too many underprivileged children, most of them orphans. I appeal to rich people with Madonna’s kind heart to come and adopt these children,” he told the AP.

Gwen Stefani has revealed Madonna invited her for dinner the last time she was in London.

The “Wind It Up” singer, who divides her time between her homes in Los Angeles and London, has rubbished rumors she and the “Hung Up” singer have been feuding and insists they are actually becoming friends.

Gwen told Australia’s Daily Telegraph newspaper: “She’s been nothing but nice to me. She’s invited me to her house for dinner and clearly she’s a huge inspiration to me musically.”

It had been reported that Madonna, 48, had accused the 37-year-old star of copying her career and even refused to accept a gift of some baby clothes from Gwen’s own fashion range for her newly adopted baby David.

Gwen gave birth to her first child, son Kingston, with her rocker boyfriend Gavin Rossdale, in May of this year.

The “Hollaback Girl” singer admits she is keen to expand her L.A.M.B fashion line.

She said: “We will soon see L.A.M.B competing with Donna Karan’s DKNY. The idea is to do the fashion for the rest of my life, although I hate saying it because if it folds everyone will know how much it hurts. There’s not a lot of emotional drainage that comes with it.
