Motherhood is something Jennifer Lopez is taking seriously — to the point people around her wonder if the superstar isn’t overreacting a bit.

According to a member of J. Lo’s team, the actress and singer — supported completely by husband Marc Anthony — has really beefed up her security detail since the birth of her twins last week. Reportedly, the couple has hired six new bodyguards — two for each eight-hour shift around the clock. The annual tab for that comes to a cool $600,000, not including the cost of benefits for the new security team.

In addition, closed-circuit cameras have been installed in virtually every room in Lopez and Anthony’s various homes.

‘’She’s paranoid about a possible kidnapping,'’ said my source.

Lopez also increasingly has become quite the ‘’germaphobe.'’ Dispensers containing a hygienic cleanser have been placed at the entrance to the babies’ nursery and elsewhere around the house. People coming close to the children have been instructed to use those lotions every time they enter the kids’ rooms.

There’s also been a purchase of what’s being called ‘’a lifetime supply'’ of surgical masks — to be worn by those coming in contact with the newborns.

Jennifer Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony are celebrating the birth of twin babies in New York.

According to People magazine, the babies, a girl weighing 5lbs 7oz and a boy weighing 6lbs, were born early this morning.

Lopez’s manager Simon Fields confirmed the news to the magazine, saying: “Jennifer and Marc are delighted, thrilled and over the moon.”

The twins are the first children for the couple, who married in June 2004. Anthony already has three children.

Dating Jennifer Lopez was bad for Ben Affleck’s career, according to the Hollywood star himself.

Affleck and Lopez’s romance hit the headlines between 2002 and 2004, and the couple were engaged when they split.

Both blamed excessive tabloid coverage for the separation.

Now Affleck, who now has a daughter with girlfriend Jennifer Garner, believes the unwanted media attention surrounding his romance with Lopez resulted in studio executives taking him less seriously in Hollywood.

He told American magazine Details: “It was probably bad for my career. What happens is this sort of bleeds over from the tabloids across your movie work.

“You go to a movie, you only go once. But the tabloids and internet are everywhere. You can really subsume the public image of somebody.

“I ended up in an unfortunate crosshair position where I was in a relationship and (the media) mostly lied and inflated a bunch of salacious stuff for the sake of selling magazines. And I paid a certain price for that.”

Jennifer Lopez recently revealed she’s such a good friend with Posh Spice she’s even prepared to take her fashion advice.  Demonstrating that friendship can make you do things you really shouldn’t, J.Lo says the former Spice Girl helped her pick out a red carpet outfit.
She says,

“It’s true, we’re two friends who share that passion. A while ago she came to my house to help me pick a dress for the Golden Globes. We had a great time and in the end we agreed on the black gown I wore. It was the best choice.”

Jennifer Lopez stunned recording studio staff by demanding they change the light bulbs before she arrived.

The star sent a three-page list of requests to the Westlake Studios in Los Angeles just two hours before she was due to arrive. Top of the list was a demand for special dim light bulbs which had to be angled to make the star look “desirable.” You are desirable without these lights for shure !Weird !

 

JENNIFER LOPEZ angered fellow passengers on a private jet taking guests to TOM CRUISE and KATIE HOLMES’ wedding ceremony by claiming all the best seats for her party.

Other celebrity passengers including JADA PINKETT SMITH, LEAH REMINI and JERRY MAGUIRE director CAMERON CROWE were shocked when they boarded the luxury 757 to find Lopez had taken over.

A source tells American publication Us Weekly, “Jennifer Lopez sent her assistant to secure seats by laying her belongings on all the best seats!” The MAID IN MANHATTAN actress also flew her hairstylist, KEN PAVES, to Rome and set him up at the posh Hotel Hassler to do her hair for the big day.

The singer ruffled more feathers at a group dinner at the restaurant Nino on Thursday night (16NOV06) by refusing to stick to the informal dress code.
