Britney Spears has given her pregnant teenage sister Jamie Lynn advice on motherhood.

Spears - mum to Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one - gave her sister pregnancy tips during an intimate baby shower at her parents’ home in Kentwood, Louisiana on Saturday (03May08).

Jamie Lynn tells American’s OK! magazine, “To be able to be in the privacy of our own home and just be sisters again was wonderful.

“She told me, ‘There are going to be some long nights, but it is completely worth it.”.

The 17-year-old actress is set to become a mum in June (08).

Out of the spotlight after revealing her pregnancy, 16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears is moving ahead with her life, passing her GED and thinking about college, a family friend tells PEOPLE.

The Zoey 101 star passed her high school equivalency exam about a month ago – scoring particularly well on reading comprehension – and is looking to take the ACT college entrance test, the friend says.

“She’s already got her diploma,” according to the friend. “She wants to take her ACT. She’s not wasting any time. People don’t know her. When she gets something in her head, she’ll make it happen. Everybody is so supportive of her.”

Last month, Britney’s younger sister was photographed in Hammond, La., carrying a GED book. She was accompanied by her mom Lynne outside a building that houses both the Tangipahoa Parish School System Adult Education Center, which is a GED preparation site, and the Title I Parent Center, which teaches parents how to help their children develop learning skills.

Sources close to Britney’s family tell TMZ it all started when Britney melted down on an OK! Magazine photo shoot. Britney’s mom, Lynne, read the article (who didn’t?!) and called OK! personally to thank them “for handling it so well.” She stayed in touch with OK!, and called them this week when she learned that news of Jamie’s pregnancy was about to break. Her only requirement? Keep Britney out of it. This is about Jamie Lynn. “She trusted them to do it in a way that would be sympathetic to her daughter,” our source says.

We’re told Jamie and mom did not want money, but OK! has agreed to pay $1 million to the younger Spears for a photo shoot when the child is born. Why so little when others have commanded several million? We’re told it’s because Jamie Lynn is not an international star and it’s not worth it to the mag to pay big bucks for something they can’t sell overseas.

Britney Spears’s 16-year-old sister Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant, Nickelodeon confirmed Tuesday.

“We respect Jamie Lynn’s decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn’s well being,” says the network, which carries her series Zoey 101.

A rep for Spears was not immediately available for comment.

The network statement follows Internet reports that Spears’s mother had confirmed the pregnancy to OK! magazine.

Spears, a high school junior who is 10 years younger than Britney, had until now escaped much of the attention about her personal life that has surrounded her sister.

Jamie Lynn stars as a schoolgirl at the fictitious Pacific Coast Academy in Zoey 101, finishing its third season next month as one of Nickelodeon’s highest-rated shows.

She recently told the Associated Press that didn’t have a serious boyfriend.

“I kind of just keep my options open,” she said. “I have a bunch of friends that I always hang out with, a bunch of guy friends.”

She added that her priority was to focus on her real-life schoolwork before considering any additional TV series or film roles.

“I’m going to try to graduate before I do anything else,” she told AP.

I guess it runs in the family. You would think she would learn from her older sister what NOT to do.
