George Clooney has made a wager with Brad Pitt and Matt Damon to lose the Sexiest Man Alive 2007 title.

The “Good German” heartthrob currently holds the prestigious title, awarded by America’s People magazine, and has made a bet with his two friends that none of the trio must be awarded the honor.
A source told Scotland’s Daily Record newspaper: “The sexiest man thing has become a real in-joke for George,Brad and Matt.”
“George is making things interesting and if any of them win it, they have to pay up. George has no intention of losing. He’s even thinking of putting on weight and growing a beard again.”
George, 45, has won the title on two occasions, as has Brad Pitt.Â
Matt Damon has previously joked about his disappointment that he is not considered as sexy as his friends, having never been bestowed the honor.

George Clooney put aside his political opinions to join forces with George Bush Snr to discuss the rebuilding of a Louisiana hospital on Thursday morning (Dec 21, 2006).

The “Ocean”s Thirteen” actor - a keen Democrat and a very public critic of Bush Snr’s son President George W. Bush, who is a Republican - appeared with the former US leader to promote relief efforts following the destruction caused by Hurricane Rita. Bush Snr praised Clooney saying: “I thought we could add a little spice to this event, and, boy, was I right.” “What he has done for the morale of this town is remarkable. I know there’s been a lot of tears shed over the past year.”
“Hurricane Rita, like Hurricane Katrina, showed us the very worst in nature but they’ve also brought out the best in human nature.” Bush Snr also shared a joke with notorious ladies man Clooney, telling him not to talk about his wife. Her quipped: “Don’t ask about Barbara. I’m too old to ask about Britney Spears.” Clooney joked back: “How’s Bill Clinton’s golf game?” But Bush denied the story that he had recently hit former president Clinton, a Democrat, on the head with a golf ball when they played together.
The 82-year-old retired politician and the 45-year-old actor teamed up to discuss their fundraising efforts to rebuild a Louisiana emergency care hospital, destroyed by the hurricane. Clooney said: “There is good news in all of this, which is that when the hospital gets up and running, I will not be doing any of the medical procedures.” “I’m coming to remind people in the rest of the country that just because it’s not on the front page anymore, all the problems that have been placed here from Katrina and Rita are not solved yet.”

George Clooney believes he is too old to be a ladies man.

The “Ocean”s Thirteen” actor is a two-time winner of People magazine’s prestigious Sexiest Man Alive title and has been linked to a string of beautiful women, but now says he feels past it.
When asked if he can have any woman he wants, Clooney told Newsweek magazine: “Um, ah, no, because I wake up and my knees hurt and I think, ‘I’m 45.’” Despite winning an Oscar for his role in “Syriana” last year, Clooney has admitted he is starting to prefer being behind the camera as he gets older.” He said: “Directing is the key to filmmaking. Everything else is just paint. I don’t yell at people through a megaphone though.
“I’m very modern. I have someone that I yell at and they yell it out loud.” Clooney has also admitted he has been stressed out this year by the constant questions about the marriages of his A-list friends, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
He said: “This year it was all about Tom and Katie getting married at my house. Tom sent me a bottle of wine to thank me.” “With Brad and Angie, I say they’re not getting married and the press goes, ‘Arrgh!’ The more you deny, the guiltier you sound.”

George Clooney has mocked his friends Matt Damon and Brad Pitt after beating them both to the title of Sexiest Man Alive.

The “Ocean”s Thirteen” actor - who was bestowed the title by People magazine - joked that his co-stars were jealous of losing out to him in an interview with David Letterman on “The Late Show” on Tuesday night (Nov 28, 2006).
Clooney said: “I worked hard for that one. But I felt bad for Matt Damon, because he really wanted it. He campaigned hard for it, but he came up short.”
“And poor Brad. He ran such a good campaign, but he got some bad advice along the way.” Clooney, 45, also exposed Pitt as the anonymous “Reverend Ted” who took out advertisements in Variety magazine and The Hollywood Reporter congratulating Clooney on his win but accompanied by an embarrassing old photograph of the heartthrob. Clooney took revenge during his TV interview by giving Letterman a collection of unflattering pictures of Pitt to show. Pitt is the only man other than Clooney to have been awarded the title twice. Last year, the honor was given to Matthew McConaughey. The “Syriana” star joked about his win, comparing it to a beauty pageant. Clooney said: “You tour with the other guys who’ve won before. We’ve got a bus. It’s Matthew McConaughey’s bus. You get a sash and a scepter and, well, we don’t like to call it a tiara.”
