LOS ANGELES —  The tension between ex-spouses Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards reached another boiling point this week when a three-year-old voicemail of the “Two and a Half Men” star using the N-word against Richards emerged.

“I deeply apologize by my choice of words to all I have obviously offended; especially to Tony Todd, an African-American, who was my best man at my first two weddings,” Sheen said in a statement on Wednesday.

“And for the record, my children did not show up today for a custodial visit without explanation. So three and one-half years later, the reasons that caused the anger and frustration displayed on that voicemail continue to be manifested on a daily basis.”

Ever since their split in 2005, Sheen and Richards have been squabbling over the custody rights regarding their two children, Lola and Sam. The case became particularly sour earlier this year when Sheen unsuccessfully turned to the courts in an attempt to stop their children from appearing on Denise’s new reality show, which he called an act of “exploitation.”

Richards defends her decision to feature their kids on the E! program, called “Denise Richards: It’s Complicated.”

“I want people to see the show and all that stuff about me exploiting my children will be put to rest,” she told Pop Tarts. “The reality is that I’m a single mom to two very young girls and I think that I would be manipulating the show if I didn’t have them in it at all. If at any point my daughters said, ‘I don’t like these people around’ or ‘Why are they filming us?’ it would be done.”

Sheen recently re-married, but Richards remains loverless — and for a good reason. How many men out there are ready to run right into a relationship without as much as a date?

“I would much rather skip the whole dating process and be in a relationship. That’s probably why I’m still single,” the 37-year-old starlet said, adding that she’s very uncomfortable and suffers from extreme nervousness at the mere thought of dating.

But while the “Drop Dead Gorgeous” glamour girl professes to be perfectly “happy being single,” she wouldn’t mind a special somebody who is just a “good guy and a good dad.”

Speaking of good guys, Richards also refuted her reputation that she has a thing only for bad boys.

“Everyone makes a point of saying that I like bad boys, and in my defense, Charlie was a reformed bad boy and Richie [Sambora] is not a bad boy,” she said. “He’s actually an amazing guy and a great dad.”

Richards briefly dated the Bon Jovi guitarist after splitting from Sheen.

Denise Richards never wanted to use ex-husband Charlie Sheen’s sperm to have another baby.

The ‘Wild Things’ actress - who already has two children, three-year-old Sam, and two-year-old Lola Rose, with Charlie  claims she only asked for a sperm donation to make his fiancée jealous.

She told the New York Post newspaper: “I never meant that - I do not want another child. I only said that to make his fiancée Brooke Mueller jealous, and to make her think I wanted to get back together. I’m a single mom.  I definitely do not want more children.”

Charlie is sticking to his claims that his ex-wife planned to use his sperm to have another child through IVF.

He told US TV show ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “There is a specific document relating to this that I am going to reserve for a court.”

Meanwhile, Charlie is reportedly having laser surgery to remove all of his 13 tattoos because his fiancée Brooke hates them so much.

Charlie Sheen says the FBI was “aware of” ex-wife Denise Richard’s allegations that he viewed child pornography, and has taken no action.

Responding to Richards’s most recent court filing in their custody battle, Sheen, 41, says in a statement released Monday that for 18 months Richards herself filed “not a single complaint” about the welfare of their daughters – and that her attacks only began after he asked to pick his own nannies.

“I have asked that the court eliminate Ms. Richards’s ability to abuse and harass us any longer,” said Sheen, who has accused Richards of using the nannies as spies on his personal life. “One can only imagine what we’ve withstood thus far.”

In her filing, Richards accuses Sheen of “an attraction to underage women,” an allegation she made earlier, providing numerous printouts of porn Web sites he allegedly visited during their marriage. The filing has not been released publicly, but a copy has been reviewed by PEOPLE.

“The FBI was aware of these issues,” Sheen states. “I provided them with every computer I owned. The computers were returned two weeks later. Haven’t heard from them since. Period. The end.”

As of now, a childcare provider must accompany Sheen and fiancée Brooke Mueller whenever they’re with daughters Sam, 3, and Lola, 2.

Richards, 36, also alleged in her filing that Sheen’s engagement to Mueller is fake and a media stunt, based on what Mueller told her.

Mueller, denying Richards claims, responded alongside Sheen’s statement Monday, saying: “There are huge concerns about how Denise’s emotions are impacting her judgment.”

Richards had no comment to Sheen’s latest statement.

Denise Richards is an idiot and is obviously jealous that Charlie Sheen has moved on and is doing pretty well.  Not to mention that he has a hit TV show and her career is a joke.

Denise Richards and Richie Sambora have ended their controversial year-long relationship. The couple quietly split up recently, Denise’s rep tells Us, adding, “They broke up two months ago, back in March, but they have remained close friends.”

Richards, 36, filed for divorce from her husband of three years, Charlie Sheen, in March 2005. Sambora, 47, ended his 11-year marriage to Richards’ friend Heather Locklear in February 2006. The two got together in April of ‘06, amidst a sea of scandal: rumors that Sambora cheated on Locklear, that Richards betrayed her friend, and allegations that Sheen abused Richards.

Denise Richards was super hot in Wild Things but seems like a real pain in the ass. Im sure Charlie Sheen is smiling.
