Andrew spoke to a newspaper about his addictions and relationship with Cheryl: “She tells me I should be inspired by what she’s done. Instead, like a fool, I go back to the drink and the glue.”

Cheryl and her husband Ashley, have even offered to pay for Andrew’s rehab but Andrew turned them down incase he fails to complete the programme.

Hayden Panettiere’s parents were on the receiving end of some bad press recently. Her father Alan was charged with misdemeanour battery after allegedly assaulting his wife Lesley in August.

The incident happened when the couple left a restaurant in Hollywood, Lesley was apparently hit three times by a drunk Alan.

Alan was released on $50,000 bail and the couple insisted the arrest was all a big misunderstanding, but he faces a year in county jail if convicted.

Michelle Williams’ dad has also been in trouble with the law.

The actress’ father Larry, prominent stock market trader, was arrested in Australia in 2006 for evading £75, 000 in taxes. He was extradited back to America last week.

It’s not just dads though. Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester was born in a Texas prison while her mum Connie was serving time for her part in a drug smuggling ring.

Connie was permitted to stay in a halfway house for the labour and birth but then forced to return to prison to complete her sentence on the same day Leighton turned three months old.

Leighton was raised by a relative while her mother finished her sentence.

The 22-year-old actress’ father, grandfather and aunt have also reportedly spent time behind bars on charges of drug dealing.

Connie is planning to bring out a memoir about her troubled past – which includes the upbringing of her TV star daughter.

The pair of hunks – including Cameron Diaz’s boyfriend Paul Sculfor – were clamouring for Cheryl’s attention at the Fashion for Relief event on Wednesday (17.09.08), where the Girls Aloud star made her catwalk debut.

A source said: “At one stage Paul and David Gandy, who are used to women falling at their feet, were literally talking at her, with Cheryl stuck in the middle not knowing where to look. They were shouting over one another trying to get the last word in and had to be hauled apart by a minder.”

Despite the attention, Cheryl – who revealed this week she had put her wedding ring back on to show she has forgiven soccer star husband Ashley for his infidelity – was more worried about whether she could pull her fashion debut off.

She said: “I can’t believe I got through it OK. I was s**ting myself beforehand – I’m not sure I’ve ever been so terrified. But I’m the happiest I’ve ever been, I really am. It’s been a great night.”

After her parade down the catwalk, Cheryl was the talk of the event, where she modelled a Jean Paul Gaultier gown and received a massive sheer from the crowd.

The source added: “Cheryl looked stunning and was the talk of the evening. There was a competition to see who could chat to her first. Basically, everyone wanted to know who the amazing brunette was and try their luck. Sadly, no one got very far.”

The Geordie lass wed the Chelsea footballer in July but she says being married to a sportsman has not inspired her to become more active.

She told Glamour magazine the opposite has happened and that she has actually gone ‘the opposite way’.

‘Maybe it’s down to happiness,’ the 23-year-old speculated. ‘I’ve got comfortable with him and I just can’t get out of bed to join him in the gym.’

Exercise-shy Cheryl also revealed to the magazine that she cheated her way into her tight-fitting bridal gown.

Instead of following a strict diet and exercise routine before her big day, Cheryl used a new machine that uses a vacuum system to tone down fatty deposits and eliminate cellulite dimples.

She does need to keep fit for her ‘Girls Aloud’ dance moves, however, and said she loves doing home fitness DVDs of Davina McCall, Nell McAndrew and Kate Lawler.

Cheryl might soon be joined in the missus ranks by bandmate Nadine Coyne. It has been rumoured that her ‘Desperate Housewives’ beau Jesse Metcalfe is planning to pop the question any day.
