Britney Spears was awarded overnight privileges with her sons, PEOPLE confirms.

The pop star hasn’t had her children overnight since January following her forced hospitalization at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

A closed-door hearing Tuesday, attended by Spears and her ex, Kevin Federline, also saw the return of Spears’s first divorce lawyer, Laura Wasser, who has officially replaced Stacy Phillips.

L.A. Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini confirmed that Spears’s parenting coach attended the hearing and made statements to the court, and that Spears’s demeanor before the commissioner was “businesslike.”

“I think any judge is pleased to see progress being made by parties in a case,” Parachini added.

Details of the hearing’s outcome were not announced. But a source confirms for PEOPLE that Spears will now be allowed to have her sons Preston, 2 1/2, and Jayden, 1 1/2, with her overnight.

The former couple face a custody trial in August, unless they can settle their case amicably out of court.

Their next hearing is set for July 15.

Although Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were in Las Vegas on Friday, the former couple managed to navigate the social scene without running into each other.

While Spears, 26, relaxed and sipped water in a cabana at the Cinevegas party at the Palms Place, Federline drank Jack Daniels at Strip House only a few miles away. And while Spears’s night ended early, her ex kept the party going past 3 a.m. at Prive Las Vegas, where he was honored as “Father of the Year”.

Looking dapper in a black suit and red tie, Federline, 30, arrived at Prive just before 1 a.m. with an entourage of about 30, including his divorce lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan. At a VIP table, Federline nodded his head to several hip-hop songs and paid little attention to the risqué fashion show that was happening on top of the club’s deejay booth.

At around 2:30 am, Federline headed to the back kitchen of the club, where he was presented with a “Father of the Year” trophy out of the public eye, an honor he told reporters “surprised” him.

Spears, celebrating Father’s Day weekend with her dad Jamie, ate fresh fruit and sunned herself for three hours Friday at the newly opened Palms Place pool. Later, she began her night with a low-key dinner with a friend and a member of her security staff at the Palms restaurant Nove, where she feasted on an artichoke dish.

After donning a short black cocktail dress, the singer attended the Cinevegas party with her father, Palms hotel owner George Maloof and his business associate Jon Gray. In a private cabana, Spears showed little emotion as she sipped water and chatted with her group for two hours.

Spears is reportedly staying the weekend in Las Vegas, while Federline is expected to head back to Los Angeles on Saturday to spend Father’s Day with his children, including his sons with Spears, Preston, 2, and Jayden 1.

Jamie Lynn Spears and her fiancé Casey Aldridge are in full-on nesting mode.

The parents-to-be, who recently purchased their first home together in Liberty, Miss., are preparing for the imminent birth of their child, sources tell PEOPLE.

“They’re very happy,” says a source. “They’re a fun little couple.”

To get settled in their new home, Spears, 17, and Aldridge, 19, recently had furniture – including an elaborately carved four-poster king-size canopy bed, a leather recliner, and a leather sofa – delivered to the house.

Spears’s mom, Lynne, is helping her daughter decorate the nursery, with the color scheme of pink, brown, and “silver-green,” says an insider.

Spears, who is due to give birth soon, has been keeping a low profile as she readies the new house for her baby. The five-acre Liberty property is already equipped with a barn and studio, which was formerly used as a hair salon.

One new neighbor, who has already offered to babysit, says, “They’re just a sweet little old couple.”

Spears and Aldridge, who got engaged in March, plan to wed after the baby is born.

No injuries were reported and Spears refused to get out of her car, letting her bodyguard talk to the other female motorist and exchange insurance details.

The police were not called to the scene of the accident.

The prang is the latest in a long line of little accidents for Spears - last year (Aug07) she was charged with a hit-and-run when she scraped another Suv while trying to park her Mercedes in a Van Nuys, California car park.

And just last month (Apr08), the pop superstar reportedly caused a three-car pile-up on Los Angeles’ Ventura Freeway after accidentally bumping another motorist in heavy traffic.

In better news for the singer Britney Spears’ her second appearance on U.S. sitcom How I Met Your Mother has further impressed the show’s producers, who think her performance as ditzy receptionist Abby was even better than her debut..

Britney Spears has given her pregnant teenage sister Jamie Lynn advice on motherhood.

Spears - mum to Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one - gave her sister pregnancy tips during an intimate baby shower at her parents’ home in Kentwood, Louisiana on Saturday (03May08).

Jamie Lynn tells American’s OK! magazine, “To be able to be in the privacy of our own home and just be sisters again was wonderful.

“She told me, ‘There are going to be some long nights, but it is completely worth it.”.

The 17-year-old actress is set to become a mum in June (08).

In seperate news Jamie Lynn SPEARS is begging friends and family to help her choose a name for her unborn daughter.

Britney Spears will get more time with her sons during visitation, a court ruled Tuesday.

“We are so pleased with Britney’s progress, and we are appreciative of the court’s recognition of this progress,” Spears’s parents, Jamie and Lynne Spears, said in statement after a hearing attended by the pop star and her ex-husband Kevin Federline.

It was not clear how much more time Spears was granted. Federline’s attorney characterized the court order as “an expansion of time.”

“It is a cautious step, but a step forward nonetheless,” said lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan. “We are seeing signs of [Britney's] progress, and consistency over time is something welcome by Kevin … The children are doing great.”

Spears, with lawyer Blair Berk and both of her parents, smiled as she left the courtroom and headed for her SUV, but did not talk to the press. Earlier, during a break in the hearing, the singer was seen looking teary-eyed. However, during a second break, she smiled and held her mother’s hand as she went back into the courtroom.

During that break, Spears and her lawyers, as well as Federline and his attorney, convened to adjacent rooms outside of the courtroom.

The hearing began around 9:40 a.m. on Tuesday. Spears, wearing a knee-length brown and white dress, was accompanied by her lawyer and both of her parents. Federline, wearing a tan pinstriped suit, was with Kaplan.

Spears has spent the last several months keeping a relatively low profile – and staying out of trouble. The singer was hospitalized at UCLA Medical Center’s psych ward in January. Her custody arrangement has consisted of only monitored visitation rights with her sons, Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1, several times a week – but no overnight privileges. Her father and a lawyer maintain legal control of her affairs until a July 31 hearing.

Since her father took control of Spears’s life, the singer has been spending more time with her family – including her previously estranged mom. (She recently attended a baby shower for her sister, Jamie Lynn, in Kentwood, La.)

Brittney Spears is trying to get her pop star body back. According to an insider, she does a 2 hour routine at Bally’s complete with 22 minutes on the elliptical, plus crunches, weights and the treadmill.

Her former manager Larry Rudolph on Brit’s transformation: “She’s in great shape. I mean, really great shape. I see huge improvements with her. She’s exercising. She’s eating great. These are the things she needs to be doing right now. She’s well on the road to being the Britney everyone knows and loves.”

A source told Life  & Style: “She’s become very aware that she doesn’t look like she sued to, and she’s working hard to do something about it.”

The source added that Brit’s been working out 5 days a week, avoiding junk food, getting manicures, and using a tanning bed at home.

The ‘Toxic’ singer met with Ed Hardy designer Christian Audigier in Culver City, California, on Thursday (04.03.08) to discuss a fashion range.

Audigier told America’s Star magazine: “I have known Britney for a long time- she is a good friend of mine. We’re talking about working together, designing a line of clothing.”

During the meeting, Britney and her mother Lynne picked out some Ed Hardy clothes to take home and happily chatted to staff in the office.

Marissa McMillion, who works for Ed Hardy, revealed: “She was really nice to everyone in the office. Her mom was with her and Britney asked us to send some clothes to her sister Jamie Lynn for her birthday.

“Britney’s favorite piece was a leopard hoodie and she loved the sunglasses - she put them on immediately. But most of all she was a fan of Christian Audigier’s own line.”

If the deal goes ahead, Britney, 26, would be the latest in a long line of celebrities to release a clothes range.

Usmagazine.com has confirmed that Britney Spears will guest star on the March 24 episode of the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother.

The pop star, 26 will play Abby, a receptionist at a dermatologist’s office who falls for architect Ted (Josh Radnor) when he comes in to have a tattoo removed. (It is Spears’ first return to the small screen since a 2006 cameo on Will & Grace.)
