It turns out Brad Pitt really is a no-holds-barred fighter – as a member of the Australian Olympic boxing team.
The Aussie Pitt, 25, quit his day job as a painter to train as a heavyweight boxer for the 2008 Games. And while he still gets the occasional taunt about his name, he’s learned to put up with it.
“Mate, I’ve been living with that other bloke’s name for years, it doesn’t worry me at all,” he told Australia’s Herald Sun while practicing.
His mother said he found out about his more famous counterpart during elementary school, when a child brought in a newspaper clip about the actor during show and tell.
“He likes to be known for his talent, not his name,” his mother Leanne told Australia’s The Age.
Talent he has. Ranked 33rd in the World Championships in Chicago in 2007, he’s gearing up for a medal run in Beijing after a grueling training session in Thailand to acclimate himself to Chinese conditions, and is ready to make a name for himself – his own name.
“I’ve always been Brad,” he tells the Daily Telegraph. “Let him change his name.”

A source said: “It was just Maddox and Brad. Just father and son time.”
Brad and Maddox raced each other around the circuit several times, but it was the birthday boy who managed to cross the finishing line first.
The special outing came three weeks after Brad’s partner Angelina Jolie gave birth to twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline.
The couple also have adopted children Zahara, three and Pax, four, as well as naturally conceived daughter Shiloh, two.
Meanwhile, it was recently reported that Angelina is considering adopting another child.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt welcomed their twins into the world - and into ravenous demand for first photos of the celebrity offspring.
Baby boy Knox Leon and girl Vivienne Marcheline were born one minute apart Saturday night via Cesarean section in a hospital on the French Riviera.
Pitt, 44, “was my assistant,” quipped obstetrician Dr. Michael Sussman, who delivered the twins. “He was very happy . . . the emotion was very strong for him.”
And the babies - who each weighed around 5 pounds - “are doing marvelously well,” Sussman said.
Twins are the best! Ive got the best pair of identical twin girls a dad could ever have in Sophia and Gabriella. If Brad and Angelinas twins are half as great as mine have been, they are in for a real treat! Those twins will be running the Bradalina empire soon enough!

When the moment finally came to welcome their newborn twins into the world, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were as calm as could be.
During the labor and delivery, the couple “were talking, they were together,” Dr. Michel Sussmann told reporters outside Fondation Lenval Hospital in Nice, France, where twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon were born on Saturday. “It was an epidural, so [Angelina] was awake and speaking and laughing. They were happy.”
Pitt never left Jolie’s side – “he was my assistant!” Sussmann said jokingly – and even cut the babies’ umbilical cords.
“He was … perfectly calm, totally determined, very pleased to be at the birth of his children, very moved and very emotional,” said Sussmann.
Asked whether the birth had been a textbook delivery, Sussmann replied, “absolutely no problems.”
When will Jolie and the babies leave the hospital? “I don’t know,” he said. “She will stay for a few days. You know, in Europe it isn’t like in the United States, where the patients go home after three days. They will stay a bit longer until everything is okay.”
He added: “The babies are fine. The babies are with the mother and father and they are fine.”

The hospital where Angelina Jolie will give birth says it has covered the windows of her room with a special material to prevent paparazzi from taking pictures of the actress and her partner, Brad Pitt.
The Lenval hospital in Nice in southern France said Wednesday that photos that claim to show Jolie and Pitt in her room are fakes that have been manipulated or show other patients.
In a statement, the hospital said it is “totally impossible” to see inside the room from the outside due to a material on the windows that camera lenses cannot see through.
The statement wasn’t specific but hospital spokeswoman Nadine Bauer said she believed the material was a type of film. She said it was put on especially for Jolie.
“So any pictures released are either posed fakes set up by paparazzi or they are pictures of other patients,” the hospital said. “We hope this is clearly understood out of respect for all patients in this clinic.”
Jolie is expecting twins. She has been resting and is being monitored by doctors in the seaside hospital ahead of the birth.
At a brief news conference last week, Jolie’s obstetrician said the 33-year-old actress was doing fine. Her stay could be a relatively long one. The doctor, Michel Sussmann, said Jolie would remain in the hospital until the babies are delivered and that could be “in the weeks to come.”

PARIS - Brangelina’s twins aren’t here yet, but the big day is drawing closer.
The seafront Lenval hospital in Nice in the south of France said Tuesday that Angelina Jolie had checked in at its Santa Maria maternity clinic to be kept under doctors’ surveillance and get some rest before she gives birth.
“Ms. Jolie came to the hospital last night as part of a pre-planned rest period, before she gives birth,” Nadine Bauer, spokeswoman for the hospital, told In Touch Weekly magazine.
“The visit has been planned for a long time, there are no complications. She is just resting,” Bauer added.
The 33-year-old actress will almost certainly remain in the hospital until she gives birth, Bauer said.
One U.S. celebrity magazine has said Jolie is pregnant with two girls while a rival publication had it as a boy and girl. A British tabloid published the supposed names of the yet-to-be-born children.
Jolie has said the babies are due in August, but twins are often born early. She and her partner, Brad Pitt, have four children: Maddox, 6; Pax, 4; Zahara, 3; and Shiloh, 2.
The Brangelina clan has been settling into a new home in the south of France. They recently moved into the Miraval Estate villa in the French hamlet of Correns, in the Provence region. The town’s mayor has said the couple have moved in, and a helicopter has been spotted taking off and landing at the site.
Correns is about 60 miles from Nice, a resort on the Mediterranean. Bauer said the hospital faces the sea, is “very modern” and specializes in caring for children.
The hospital is named after Baron de Lenval, who in 1884 donated part of his fortune to start the facility, in memory of his only son, who died in Nice at age 11, the hospital’s Web site says. It says the hospital was rebuilt in the 1990s. Photos show a boxy-looking building with a white exterior and mirrored blue windows set among palm trees.
The hospital’s address is fitting for the American couple: It’s on Nice’s California Avenue.

Yet another reason to be jealous of Angelina Jolie: Even in the final stages of her pregnancy with twins, she can still turn the head of Brad Pitt.
“I’m very lucky,” she tells USA Today. “I’m with a man who makes me feel very sexy pregnant and loves children.”
But Pitt isn’t all talk. Jolie, 33, also tells the paper, “In the last few months it’s hard for me to pick up the other kids, so he’s there to help lift them up to me and things like that. He’s an extremely hands-on dad with all the kids and really, really supportive.”
Jolie, who stars in the upcoming assassin thriller Wanted, is taking a break before she gives birth. “We’ve made a point to, both of us, not be working,” she says. “So we’ll be home together with the kids.”
And don’t worry about Maddox, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh feeling left out when the twins arrive. “At the same time we’re expecting two, we have four,” Jolie says, “so my focus now is on the four we have. So every day is just about making sure that their schooling is going right and their manners are intact and we’re disciplining properly and we’re spending enough time with them individually, so they seem special.”
She adds: “That’s a lot of balance when you have a lot of children.”

CANNES, France - Angelina Jolie, pregnant with twins, has some secrets for staying serene at the Cannes Film Festival: get her partner, Brad Pitt, to baby-sit, and wear comfy shoes on the red carpet.
Jolie was at the festival Thursday to promote DreamWorks’ animated “Kung Fu Panda.” She’ll be busy at Cannes, as she also stars in Clint Eastwood’s “Changeling,” which is also been shown.
But the mother of four — soon to be six — swears she’s not working too hard.
“I’m sitting and talking a lot, and everybody’s being very nice to me,” Jolie told reporters. “If I was feeling too pregnant everybody said I didn’t have to come.”
The 32-year-old actress also confirmed that she’s thinking about giving birth in France.
“I actually haven’t completely decided, but we are certainly thinking of France,” Jolie said. “It’s a second language in our house. I’m still learning so I’m not going to attempt it here today, my rusty French. But our children are starting to speak French, so being here is very good for them for their language.”
She also revealed a red carpet beauty tip.
“I’m going to do a shoe ad right now — Cole Haan makes a shoe with a Nike sole, so I have a low heel with a Nike sole,” she said.
While Jolie was being swarmed by photographers, Pitt was taking care of their children. He was joining her later for the “Kung Fu Panda” premiere.
“He’s with our kids right now, but he’ll get his suit on at the last minute, I’m sure,” she said.
Jolie is the voice of an assertive tigress and martial arts maestro in “Kung Fu Panda,” which also features the voices of Jack Black and Dustin Hoffman. The actress says she’s not a fierce feline at home.
“I think I have a very even partner right now, and I think we’re very balanced at home with our power-sharing,” she said. “But I think every woman in some way is a tigress or would like to be.”

The rumor is true — Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are expecting twins.
In an interview that took place in Cannes on Wednesday with the “Today” show’s Natalie Morales, Jolie confirmed that she has two buns in the oven.
Jolie ‘fessed up in a side-by-side interview with Jack Black as the two were promoting their new Dreamworks animated film, “Kung Fu Panda.”
She didn’t volunteer the information until Black dropped the hint, joking that the couple will “have as many as (the) ‘Brady Bunch’ when you have these.”
“It’s confirmed?” followed Morales.
“Yeah, yeah, we’ve confirmed that already,” Jolie said. “Well, Jack’s just confirmed it actually.”
“Is that true?” Black said jokingly.
“Yeah, you did,” Jolie replied.
“Sorry,” Black said.
Jolie, 32, and Pitt, 44, are also parents to Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 1.

Even by Monaco standards, it wasn’t your ordinary dinner party for 12 on Friday night – though there was cake and champagne.
To celebrate his 48th birthday, U2 frontman Bono held a small dinner party at Sass’ Café in Monaco. On the guest list: Brad Pitt, Monaco’s Prince Albert II and The Edge.
“It was really quite a surprise,” the café’s maitre de tells PEOPLE. “It wasn’t organized in advance. We only got called on it that afternoon.”
Despite Pitt’s presence, Angelina Jolie, who had visited Bono in Eze with her children last Sunday, remained at home.
The sit-down dinner, arranged by Bono’s wife Ali Hewson, began with red wine at 10 p.m., according to staff, even before The Edge arrived for the evening. The meal was followed by a champagne toast and strawberry cake lit with candles; a staffer described the party as “tres speciale.”
No word on what gifts Bono received – but what do you give a man who has his own rock band and has already been nominated for the Nobel Prize?

Brad and Angelina haven’t confronted any pregnancy rumors, but today at the Film Independent’s Spirit Awards, the two decided to use a more passive approach — just show the bump!
