Britney Spears is desperate for California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s help in her ongoing custody battle, according to reports.
The singer - whose lawyers from legal firm Trope & Trope last month filed a motion requesting permission to withdraw as her counsel - allegedly believes her inability to keep an attorney in her custody case with ex-husband Kevin Federline violates her “civil rights”.
Spears’ estranged manager Sam Lutfi reportedly contacted Schwarzenegger’s former publicist to help put the 26-year-old in touch with the state commander.
A source tells the New York Daily News: “Britney says her civil rights have been violated and she wants to talk to Arnold about it.
“She wants the governor to look into why she can’t get an attorney. Sam was chewing on his dinner while he was saying all this into the phone.
“He wanted Schwarzenegger to call him, and he said he’d hand Britney the phone.”
Spears lost the right to visit her sons Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one, last month after a breakdown at her Beverly Hills home at the end of a scheduled visit, which resulted in a three-hour police stand-off.

The ‘Terminator’ star ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER , whose term as the governor of California ends in January 2011, has already asked a number of script writers to come up with ideas to help reignite his film career.
A source said: “Quite a few of the writers who are on strike in Hollywood at the moment are claiming that Arnold’s people have been sounding them out about ideas.
“He wants to be prepared for the time when his political career comes to an end and he’s already started thinking about it seriously. He believes there will be room for him in the movie business and still sees himself as a big star.”
Schwarzenegger’s spokesman would only comment: “He may go back to the movies”.
The 60-year-old star’s last high-profile role came with ‘Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines’ in 2003.
In October 2003 he was elected as governor of California for the Republican party, before winning re-election in November last year.

Hollywood actor-turned-California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was ‘joking’ when he said marijuana was “not a drug”, his spokesman said on Monday.
‘The Terminator’ star, 60, told the British edition of GQ magazine that he had not taken drugs, even though he has acknowledged using marijuana in the 1970s and was shown smoking a joint in the 1977 documentary, ‘Pumping Iron’.
Now Schwarzenegger’s press secretary, Aaron McLear, has come forth in defense of the star - insisting he made the comments in a lighthearted context.
McLear says: “The governor was doing an interview with the host of America’s Got Talent (Piers Morgan), the newest version of the gong show.
“I think it’s important to keep that quote in the context of the environment where it was said.
“Of course the governor understands marijuana is a drug. It’s like when he goes on Leno or the Daily Show - if you took something like that out of context, it might seem shocking but it was in a silly entertainment context.”
While marijuana for medical reasons is permitted in California, those found to be in possession of a small amount of the drug face a misdemeanor charge and a maximum $100 fine.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was released from hospital on Saturday (12.30.06).
The California governor - who broke his leg skiing last week - returned to
his Los Angeles home to celebrate New Year with his family.
Schwarzenegger said: “It was fantastic to return home as my family prepares
to celebrate the New Year together. I am feeling good and looking forward to
beginning 2007.”

The 59-year-old is expected to use crutches when he is sworn in for his
second term as governor on Friday (01.05.07).
His two-day inauguration celebrations - which include a black-tie-gala -
will begin on Thursday (01.04.07).
‘The Terminator’ actor broke his right thigh bone while skiing in Idaho’s Sun Valley. He underwent a 90 minute operation at Santa Monica’s St John’s
Health Center on December 26 to connect the broken bone fragments using
screws and cables.
Schwarzenegger’s orthopedic surgeon , Kevin Ehrhart, said it could take up
to eight weeks for the injury to heal.
This is Schwarzenegger’s third visit to hospital in less than a year.

In January 2006 he needed 15 stitches in his lip after his motorbike
collided with a car. Last December, Schwarzenegger was admitted to hospital
complaining of a rapid heartbeat after he caught stomach flu.

Remember when his body looked like this?

Actor and governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, has undergone surgery to repair his broken leg.
The Republican politician, aged 59, broke his right femur while skiing in Sun Valley in Idaho on December 23rd. He underwent surgery on Boxing Day when screws and cables were used to fix together broken fragments of bone.
It is possible that the governor will attend his second inauguration ceremony next month on crutches.
Dr. Kevin Ehrhart, the orthopaedic surgeon who performed the procedure said: “He is now fully coherent, and I have cleared him to resume his duties as governor.”
He added that Mr Schwarzenegger would be back, saying: “I expect the governor to fully recover. The governor is not in a cast and will use crutches to walk while his leg heals.”
Star of the Terminator films, Mr Schwarzenegger has had a few bumps and bruises over the years including two motorcycle accidents. In January, a motorcycle accident caused the governor to attend hospital for 15 stitches to his lip and last December, he was under observation for a rapid heartbeat.
The True Lies actor also underwent surgery for a replacement heart valve made of his own tissue in 1997

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger broke his leg while skiing with his family Saturday morning in Sun Valley, Idaho, a spokesman said.
Schwarzenegger (59) was taken to a hospital for X-rays and was discharged with a fracture to his right femur, said Adam Mendelsohn, the governor’s Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications.
He will have surgery to repair the bone when he returns to Los Angeles, Mendelsohn said. The governor remained at his Sun Valley home Saturday night and still planned to spend Christmas there.
No one else was involved in the accident, Mendelsohn said.
The fracture was the second medical problem the governor suffered in a year. He spent several hours at a University of California, Davis, hospital last December with a rapid heartbeat after coming down with a stomach flu.
The Sun Valley Resort, a favorite skiing destination for celebrities, includes a short ski trail named “Arnold’s Run” after Schwarzenegger. The trail is categorized as a black diamond, or most difficult, for its challenging terrain.
The name and level of difficulty of the trail the governor was skiing when his accident occurred were not released.
Just want to say “ Schwarzenegger brake a leg “…
