Cruise is like the King of the Globes, their most desired participant for TV ratings, bigger even than Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The actor will be only two weeks into the launch of his movie, “Valkyrie,” and the Globes show may be his final publicity pitch.

They already own an apartment in the city’s trendy East Village, after Holmes was cast in the play All My Sons on Broadway in June.

Cruise has hinted that after feeling so welcomed, the family may as well stick around longer after the show has finished.

TomKat’s New York neighbour told the New York Post that they are buying many lofts in a 12-story building just south of 14th street in Manhattan.

The neighbor said: “Tom and Katie now keep five units in the building. They turned one into Suri’s playroom. One they use for a gym, and two apartments are for staff.”

Appearing on U.S talk show Live with Regis and Kelly, Cruise spoke of the area saying: “We love it here. The people are so warm and friendly.”

His appearance on the show last Monday saw a reformed Cruise, as he said: “It’s not what I had intended. I looked at myself and thought: that came across as arrogant. I learned a lesson”.

“Believe it or not, Matt and I are friends. Some of you may find that hard to believe,” said the actor, who famously scolded Lauer on-air and called him “glib” during a discussion of psychiatry and post-partum depression during a now-notorious 2005 interview.

The roasts specialize in dirty humor that poke fun at their honorees. Cruise had a field day at Lauer’s expense.

“When they do ‘Where in the World is Matt Lauer,’ I’m the one person in the world who knows where he is,” said Cruise, who showed humorously doctored slides of the two of them at a backyard barbecue together, wading in a swimming pool and cuddling on a jet-ski.

“We go on vacation together,” claimed Cruise, who also said they speak on the phone “sometimes four times a day” and watch TV together “for hours.” Cruise also credited Lauer with advising him not to talk about his movie War of the Worlds when he appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s show (on which he jumped on Winfrey’s sofa), but to talk about his then-new girlfriend, Katie Holmes.

“He said, ‘Tom, Tom, don’t be glib, You’re in love.’ ” Talk about Holmes, Lauer suggested. “Be inspiring … People will love you for it,” Cruise quoted Lauer as saying.

The actor also credited Lauer with advising O.J. Simpson to go into a Las Vegas hotel room and reclaim his sports memorabilia, and with advising Katie Couric to leave Today for the CBS Evening News.

A new biography of Tom Cruise claims he was encouraged to end his marriage to Nicole Kidman by Scientology bosses.

Andrew Morton’s controversial new book alleges the church soured towards Kidman after she gave an interview in 1998 describing herself as “a catholic girl”, and steered Cruise into ending their union.

Morton alleges that in 1999 Cruise took a course that would identify “those in his life who create problems and difficulties”. Kidman was identified as such.

The author writes, “Shortly after Kidman’s Newsweek interview, senior Scientology leaders discussed their strategy to keep Tom in the fold. The fear was that a lukewarm Nicole could fatally compromise Tom’s commitment to his faith.”

Morton also claims when the marriage ended in January 2001, Kidman was informed through a lawyer’s letter. Morton writes: “She was told she would never make another movie.”

He claims Kidman discovered she was pregnant shortly after the split. When she suffered a miscarriage, Cruise sent flowers but never visited, the book alleges.

The actor’s lawyer Bert Fields has dismissed the biography as “a bunch of lies”.

“He’ll say, ‘You look good. I hope security is going with you.’ Now that gives me attitude.”

The 28-year-old star also revealed she gets turned on watching Tom, 45, indulging in his new hobby – flying.

Meanwhile, Katie has spoken about the birth of her and Tom’s 19-month-old daughter Suri.

I couldn’t have asked for a more supportive human being. He had the room ready, candles everywhere, pictures in frames. It was very homey and beautiful.”

This is really no surprise, the guy has been married 3 times and has always been with woman, just because two men looking for money said he was gay, doesnt make it so.

Tom Cruise is set to play Hugh Hefner in a new biopic of the Playboy founder’s life.

The 45-year-old actor, who has an 18-month-old daughter Suri with his actress wife Katie Holmes, is hot favourite to portray the 81-year-old lothario in upcoming movie ‘Playboy’ and is reportedly excited about the prospect of bringing Hefner’s “colourful life” to the big screen.

A source close to the actor said: “Tom knows of Hugh’s colourful past and thinks he would be the perfect person to bring it to the big screen.

“He also thinks the role would be a challenge for him, and would remind people of his versatility as an actor. At the moment people are concentrating on his personal life, and his marriage to Katie – but he wants to remind them that he can act too.”

A spokesperson for the star has refused to confirm whether he has accepted the part.

They said: “A lot of people consider Tom for a lot of roles.”

Leonardo DiCaprio – a frequent visitor to Hefner’s famous Playboy mansion in Los Angeles – has also been linked to the role.

I would think Leo is a better choice to play Hef, unless they want to portray him now.

Victoria Beckham turned down Tom Cruise when he asked her for tickets to the group’s forthcoming tour.

The Hollywood actor was so desperate to go to the girl band’s reunion concert he called Beckham to ask to be put on the guest list – but the singer refused.

He says: “You know what, I phoned Victoria but she said, ‘I’m sorry we’re sold out.’”

The reformed band begin their world tour in December.
